CALL FOR TUTORIALS

Deadline: 20 December 2024, 11:59PM PST

The RLDM 2025 Tutorial Chairs invite nominations for tutorials to be given on Wednesday June 11th, 2025, immediately preceding the main conference.

We welcome nominations (including self-nominations) for tutorials on topics of foundational importance for “learning and decision making over time to achieve a goal”. RLDM is an interdisciplinary conference and tutorials are intended to introduce attendees from within one sub-discipline to core ideas and concepts from the other to facilitate cross-disciplinary exchange at the meeting. We encourage submission of tutorial proposals on any topic provided the tutorial is of interest to part of the RLDM audience. Selection will take into account topic relevance and coverage, speaker experience and diversity considerations.

We plan to host a mix of invited and submitted tutorials. We anticipate hosting four tutorials. Two tutorials on introductory topics will happen in parallel and be 90 minutes each. Two tutorials will be on advanced or emerging topics and will be 70 minutes each. The tutorials will be given by one or two presenters. Tutorial nominations should answer the following questions:

Title: What is the title of your tutorial?

Brief description and outline: What will the tutorial be about? Please provide an outline of what you plan to cover and breakdown of time on each topic. We encourage the presenters to demonstrate coverage and representativeness of core ideas, not to focus solely on their own results or tools.

Target audience: Who is your target audience? What kind of background do you expect them to have?

Presenters: Please include the names and email addresses of the presenters (up to 2), along with brief bios and the description of each presenter’s expertise in the tutorial area.

If self-nominating, tutorial presenters need to strongly commit to present the tutorial in person.

For full consideration, tutorial nominations should be submitted via this form by Friday, December 20th, 2024. In case of any other questions, please contact us at angela.langdon@nih.gov and amy.zhang@austin.utexas.edu.
