Call for Mentors

This year at RLDM, we are excited to introduce a new cross-disciplinary mentoring program. The goal of this initiative is to bridge the gap between the “wet” (cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience) and “dry” (computer science, engineering, math) sides of RLDM by pairing mentors and mentees from these distinct areas. By fostering these connections, we aim to enhance the exchange of ideas, promote innovative research, and build a cohesive community that spans the diverse disciplines represented at the conference.

We invite researchers and industry professionals to join us as mentors, and we encourage students and early-career researchers to apply as mentees. Together, we can create a vibrant and collaborative environment that supports the growth and development of all participants.

What’s involved?

Mentors and mentees are committing to meeting face-to-face at least once during the conference.

Why become a mentor?

As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Share your expertise: Guide and inspire the next generation of researchers in reinforcement learning and decision-making.
  • Network: Connect with emerging talents from the other side of the field.
  • Contribute to the community: Play a crucial role in shaping the future of this rapidly evolving field.

Why become a mentee?

As a mentee, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn from Experts: Gain valuable insights and guidance from experienced researchers from the other side.
  • Expand Your Network: Connect with established researchers, broadening your professional network and opening up new opportunities.
  • Enhance Your Research: Receive constructive feedback and advice on your research, helping you to refine your work and achieve your goals.
  • Career Development: Get advice on career planning and development, helping you to navigate your path in the field.

How to Apply

Application to be either a mentor or mentee can be completed as part of the conference registration process until May 1st by indicating your interest and providing us with information about your background. Potential mentors will also indicate how many mentees they would be willing to work with.
