Dublin is a small city with multiple attractions easily navigated to by foot, bicycle, and public transport.

Dublin Bikes are a network of bicycles located around the city centre. A three day ticket costs €5, allowing unlimited journeys up to 30minutes in duration.

To use public transport, you require a Leap Card which can be purchased from almost any shop (including three shops on Trinity College campus) for a €5 deposit. Single trips cost a maximum of €2 using the Leap Card, which can be used on Dublin’s Bus, Tram (Luas) and Light Rail (DART).

Some of Dublin’s most popular tourist attractions include:

Restaurants: Enjoy modern Irish cuisine at Note or Spitalfields, more casual dining at Bunsen (burgers), or international flavours at Cornucopia (vegetarian/vegan) or Big Fan. Fine dining at Uno Mas requires advance booking. While some breakfast, lunch, and coffee options beckon on campus, local off-campus favourites including Tang, Bread 41, CloudPicker and Honey Truffle.

Bars & Pubs: Experience traditional Irish (‘trad’) music at a range of venues around Dublin that host sessions (check for up to date times and dates of sessions). For a different vibe, try cocktails at Peruke & Periwig. There are lots of options closer to campus, including The Lincoln’s Inn, Kennedy’s, and O’Neill’s.

Entertainment: Catch a play in one of Dublin’s many theatres such as the Abbey Theatre or the Gaeity Theatre, one of Dublin’s numerous music venues such as Whelan’s or Vicar St, or comedy at The International or The Laughter Lounge. For a difference experience, consider the Hot Box Sauna a luas ride way in Inchicore, where you can chill out for the evening by heating up, cooling off in icy water (!) – with the option of going for pizza and beer afterwards at Rascals or visiting Dublin’s best tiny taqueria, Lupillo.
